April Ross
April Ross is one of only a few female beach volleyball stars who have managed to capture medals at multiple Olympics. In Tokyo over the next few days she'll be aiming to secure her third gold together with fellow first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross's aim is to get her first Olympic gold medal. With her age of 39, it may be her last chance to take home an Olympic gold. However, she remains optimistic that the most important medals are in reach. Ross on NBC Boston, said that Ross was convinced that the team could achieve a gold medal, if we played our best. In addition, I'm planning have a chance to try my hand at lucky. Ross was born on the 22nd of October, 1982. She was raised in Costa Mesa California where she resided with her parents and her sister. Ross was a competitive athlete in a variety of sports while attending Newport Harbor High School. In addition to indoor volleyball, she played basketball and jogged track as professional athletes. She was clearly the best at the sport of indoor volleyball. Based on her bio, she played a middle blocker and an outside hitter in the volleyball court throughout her time in high school. Her achievements were acknowledged with her being selected as 1999 Gatorade's Circle of Champions' National Players of the Year. In 2000, she was awarded an Orange County Athlete of the Award for volleyball. Ross and Klineman have been working together in 2017. The reality is that Ross was already a respected participant in the scene of beach volleyball before this pairing. There is no doubt that she has played a significant role on the scene of beaches for many years. Actually, she had won several championships, including one with a famous volleyball superstar. The pair was Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and also as a coach and Klineman. Kessy as well as Ross proved to be extremely successful on the world circuit, winning a 2009 world title together. The duo eventually captured an Olympic silver medal during the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) and Misty Maytreanor took home gold winning over them. Ross Walsh was Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. The pair went on to win the bronze medal in beach volleyball in the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. Ross was a player for the Trojans from USC during the college years following her graduation from in high school. The USC experience was awe-inspiring. The Trojans were an All-American and Pac-10 Freshman of Year in 2000. Her performance also assisted in helping the Trojans advance to in the Final Four. She was devastated by a personal defeat in her sophomore year However, she came back her place as an All-American. After two more seasons as a member of the Trojans they helped achieve consecutive championships. For her part she established herself as a legend when she won the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. The award went to the best female collegiate player from the United States. Ross went on to study international relations at USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, was never given the privilege of watching her daughter become the beach volleyball's biggest star. At the time of 2001, while Ross was in her sophomore year studying at USC her mother passed away due to breast cancer. Ross is still awed by the memory of her parent. Margie continues to be an inspiration for her family on the beach and all throughout her life.
